Amaro completes platform lighting extension across multiple stations

Amaro have successfully carried out mechanical and electrical work at three railway stations, Cooks bridge, Goring & Lancing. The works consisted of installing new supplies to the new platform extension lighting and Comms systems to allow for more capacity at the station.

The project involved upgrading distribution boards to provide the spare capacity for the new lighting system, installing new lighting columns, dextra lights and a new PA system.

All the above stations are live railway stations and therefore two separate 52hr possessions were put in place so that all works could be delivered safely and eliminating the risk of any moving trains during the works on the platform.

The platform extensions were installed within the possession, with Amaro starting work on the lighting once the platform had been completed to ensure a safe environment for all Staff. Amaro put in a strict 12hr door to door policy to ensure no operative was fatigued during a shift.

Alongside the new installation Amaro carried out some upgrade works to the existing lighting at all stations which involved a range of different equipment and systems.
