Agathos supports Targeted Provision to acquire SENse Learning

Agathos is pleased to announce the acquisition of SENse Learning by portfolio company Targeted Provision, marking the business’s second strategic acquisition as it continues to build a national platform for high-quality, inclusive educational support.

SENse Learning is a leading provider of one-to-one educational and therapeutic support for children and young people (YP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Its bespoke, trauma-informed approach aligns closely with Targeted Provision’s commitment to delivering tailored, impactful services to vulnerable children requiring one-to-one educational support.

This follows Targeted Provision’s successful acquisition of ASEND in October 2024. Since then, the business has completed a full operational integration and shifted its focus to targeted growth initiatives. The combined group is already achieving high growth, underscoring the strategic and cultural alignment between the two organisations. The addition of SENse Learning builds on the growth momentum forged by the acquisition of ASEND, enhancing Targeted Provision’s ability to deliver high-impact, scalable provision across the UK.

Chris Kneale-Jones, Founder and CEO of Targeted Provision, said:

“This is another really positive step in building a joined-up, high-quality offer for YP across Alternative Provision and SEND. SENse Learning brings real expertise, a strong track record of impact with young people, and a shared set of values. Their work has consistently helped build trusting relationships that create the right conditions for progress. We’re excited about the additional impact we can make by working together. As with ASEND, we’ll take a careful, mission-led approach to integration – growing in the right way while staying focused on what each YP needs.“

James Bakewell, Partner at Agathos, commented:

“We’re proud to support Targeted Provision as it builds a differentiated platform for inclusive education. The acquisition of SENse Learning further strengthens TP’s national reach and delivery capability. It’s a compelling example of strategic growth aligned to meaningful educational impact.”

Lucy McMann, Founder and CEO of SENse Learning, added:

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Targeted Provision. When we met, it quickly became obvious that we have a shared vision and ethos for supporting young people through holistic, and person centered, education. Together, we’ll be better placed to further meet the rising demand for alternative ways of learning through high quality provision, ensuring every young person has access to an education they deserve.”

With this latest acquisition, Targeted Provision continues to strengthen its position as a trusted partner to Local Authorities and schools across the UK, delivering measurable outcomes for young people with the most complex educational needs.
