Agathos announces three promotions

Agathos is pleased to announce three promotions. John Butterworth has been promoted to Senior Investment Manager, and Mark Conway and Tom Street have been promoted to Investment Manager.

The promotions mark a further step in the development of Agathos’s investment team, following the arrival of Katie Beck and James Bakewell as Partners in 2022, and the completion of two investments in December from Agathos’s second fund.

John is responsible for transacting and working closely with management teams post investment. John played a key role in Agathos’s investments in Targeted Provision and Simply Sustainable in December. In addition, John has helped with a number of portfolio initiatives in Hunter Healthcare, working closely with the senior team on the internationalisation of the business.

Mark has been with Agathos since 2018 and is predominantly responsible for Fund I portfolio management. Mark supported the successful partial exit of Cargostore in 2020 that generated an excellent return for the Fund. More recently he has focused on driving growth and creating value in the remaining Fund I businesses.

Tom joined Agathos from DC Advisory prior to the launch of Fund II and has been involved in the origination, appraisal and completion of all Fund II investments. Tom was integral to Agathos’s recent platform investments in Targeted Provision and Simply Sustainable, and will continue supporting the development of these businesses alongside executing new Fund II investments.
