Cargostore Worldwide acquires Reftrade UK and Environstore

Agathos is pleased to announce that portfolio company Cargostore Worldwide has completed the acquisition of Reftrade UK and Environstore, marking a major milestone in Cargostore’s 30-year history and its first strategic acquisition to date.

The Aberdeen-based businesses, known for their high-quality refrigerated container and offshore equipment solutions, significantly expand Cargostore’s product offering and geographical footprint. This multi-million-pound transaction strengthens the group’s capability to support critical industries, including offshore energy, clean tech, pharmaceuticals and humanitarian logistics.

With continued backing from Agathos and co-investor Connection Capital, this deal positions Cargostore for its next phase of growth—bringing new products, deeper sector expertise and enhanced client service. Notably, the acquisition includes Reftrade’s fleet of ATEX-approved EX refrigerated containers, essential for hazardous environments, and Environstore’s DNV-accredited offshore skips, key to sustainable waste management in decommissioning.
