Agathos sponsors the Happy Heart 100 charity event
We are delighted to announce today that we are supporting a charity running event being held in Richmond Park on the 22nd September. The Happy Heart 100 run was created by a long-time friend of Agathos, Ben Burch. Ben’s daughter underwent open heart surgery when she was just 4 days old, and the experience had a massive impact on him and his family.

Ben is running 100km through London – that’s nearly two and a half marathons back to back. However, a big part of the event is a 5km run arranged for children and supporters, who in teams will also run 100km. Each runner will do their part, whether that be 1km or 10km, to work towards a shared goal. It was the ethos behind this run that aligned so strongly with the values of Agathos and why we have stepped in to be the main sponsor – www.happyheart100.com/blog/i-can-and-i-will-watch-me It is about a simple and powerful desire to make a difference, to strive to do the right thing.
You can read about the run here and if you wish to donate or lend your support then that would be fantastic: www.happyheart100.com
The run is raising funds for the pioneering research led by the surgeon who saved Ben’s daughters life in order to redesign how infant heart surgery is conducted, reduce the impact on patients and improve recovery times; and a major part of this research will be focussing specifically on the prevention of what happened to Ben’s daughter.
We wish Ben and all the other runners the best of luck and we’ll be supporting them all the way.
