Amaro upgrades nine Level Crossings in East Anglia

Amaro has successfully delivered upgrades to nine level crossings within East Anglia. The Anglia region has many crossings that have barrier machines or ‘drive up drive down’ machines. These types of machines are now legacy equipment with no spares available.

At each level crossing, the existing barrier machines and associated parts were recovered and replaced with new barrier machines, booms, skirts, caging and fence-line. New connecting cables were provided to control and indicate the new barrier machines. Where necessary, road traffic lights and audible warning devices were also replaced, along with their connecting cables. To cater for the increase in operational current, barrier motor cables were upgraded along with the wiring, links and fuses.
